Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born on the 18th of November 1985 in Los Angeles. Felix's father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley while their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix had an early flair to play sports while in high school at Los Angeles Baptist High School. She discovered her sprinting ability at the at the time. After just 10 weeks of the first time she tried, she placed second in the 200 meter race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix was signed to professional work with Adidas in 2003. She then enrolled at University of Southern California to take classes in elementary school. The following year, Felix earned her very first Olympic medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece setting an unofficial junior world record running 200 meters within 22.18 seconds. At the 2005 Helsinki World Championships, Felix was the youngest world champion for the 200 meter race. The title was upheld at the 2007 World Championships, beating her Jamaican adversary Veronica Campbell. Felix was a regular competitor in Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro, as well as Tokyo. She consistently placed at the top of the podium in all events.
